Radio Cardiff is the city’s only local community radio station, and we’re award-winning at it! We showcase the best of Europe’s youngest capital city, on FM, online and on mobiles.
Each week, over 100 volunteers share their passion for music and the communities that make the ‘Diff our home. You’ll hear us on street corners, in the coffee shops and down the local. We’re know as the sound of the city.
We took to the airwaves in October 2007, quickly becoming the distinctive sound of the capital. Our music taste is distinctly MOBO, reflecting the rich and multi-cultural heritage of Cardiff, which has one of the oldest BAME communities in the UK. We do play a wide range of other music tastes too.

We’re kept on the air by over 100 volunteers, who each week, give up their time to share their passion for music and their communities. Our broadcast license is owned and operated by VCS Cymru, a charity registered in England and Wales (Charity Registration No. 1066371).
Management of the station comes from a sub-group of VCS Cymru trustees, volunteers and local people. Day to day responsibilities are delegated to this bunch:
