Each week, Rhys presents the best in jazz music and is joined by guests from the jazz world for interviews and sessions. Mike Sims presents a weekly CD review and a preview of forthcoming releases, Jonathan Crespo has the Billboard Top 10 jazz album countdown as well as a weekly installment of his Beginner’s Guide to Jazz, there’s the latest news from the jazz world, a guide to jazz gigs taking place across South Wales and an eclectic mix of jazz, old and new.

Rhys cut his teeth in broadcasting on Xpress Radio at Cardiff University between 2006 and 2008 where he presented a weekly jazz magazine show and an award winning music quiz programme. He presented a series of jazz documentaries for Radio Cardiff in 2007 and 2008 and rejoined the station in 2010 with his science show, Pythagoras’ Trousers. Before presenting A Slice of Jazz, he hosted Jazz Special for 4 years and has presented over 30 jazz documentaries for the station. As well as presenting his weekly jazz and science programmes, he heads up the station’s news team and presents the weekly World News on Sunday.

Away from Radio Cardiff, Rhys protects aeroplanes from lightning strike damage for Airbus Group and is a co-founder of Cardiff Science Festival. He can also be found on stage with his jazz band Imperfect Tenth, his science variety night The Pythagorean Cabaret or calling ceilidhs with the Uisge Contra Band.
